About Sarah

Hi, I'm Sarah — aka Miss Skittle. 🎶

Hello, my name is Sarah Donner, also fondly known as Miss Skittle to my students at Southcoast Children’s Theater. I have been teaching voice, guitar, ukulele, piano, and songwriting to music lovers of all ages for over fifteen years. I hold a BA in Music with a minor in musical theater from Westminster Choir College and certification with the Lovetri Somatic Method of Voice Pedagogy. As a classically trained musician, I am well versed in the foundations of singing. Making music starts in the body, no matter what instrument you play.

My songwriting career spans two decades with over a dozen releases under the Sarah Donner brand. Highlights of my career range from singing with Julie Andrews at Madison Square Garden to opening for Lisa Loeb (songwriter of the 90s hit ‘Stay’) and directing/performing sold-out cabarets while I was living in New Jersey. My album Fossil of Girl won New Jersey’s Music Awards “Best Album of the Year”, and my song “With Pride” was a finalist in the OUTMusic Awards in NYC (basically the gay Grammys).

I am passionate about fostering a safe space for children and adults to gain confidence with their music making. Whether you are interested in musical theater, adult contemporary music, church songs, pop, rock, folk, jazz, or classical crossover, I will cheer you on and teach you how to move others by embodying your own personal sound.
